Relax and Improve Your Eyesight (written for Improve Vision Without Glasses)
Mistakenly, many people think that there is only one solution to impaired vision: to correct it. Most people do not consider that there could be a natural cure available. Instead, they look to correct their vision with contacts, glasses, or Lasik surgery. These corrections are only a "fix," not a cure.
It is easy to strain your eyes these days. Staring at a computer, a television, a video game, a book, and straining to see something far away can all produce mental and physical strain on the eyes. In order to improve your eye health, you will first have to learn how to relax your eyes. Relaxing your eyes is very simple and only requires a conscious effort. Try the following five exercises for relaxation:
" Blink. Blink every three to four seconds for about two minutes.
" Palming. Place your elbows on a desk, and palm your hands over your closed eyes. Do not apply any pressure anywhere; just simply relax in the dark for a few minutes.
" Figure eight. Imagine an "8" about ten feet in front of you, and then move your eyes through the figure "8" in one direction and then the other direction. Repeat this a few times.
" Near and far focusing. Hold out your extended thumb from your extended arm in front of you. Breathe deeply and stare at your thumb. Then, change your focus to something up close and focus on it for a while. Repeat.
" Zooming. Assume the above-mentioned position with your arm and thumb. Focus on your thumb from a distance, and slowly bring it in towards your face (about three inches away from your face). Then, slowly return your arm to its original position-all the while focusing on your thumb.
Rapid Blinking Can Improve Your Eyesight
The information that you hear about being able to improve your eyesight by exercising your eyes is true. It may seem hard to believe. So many people wear glasses and contacts to correct their vision. If eye exercises and such natural types of remedies work, why don't more people take advantage of the methods?
Firstly, the natural methods are under-advertised and under-recommended. Optometry, retails sales of glasses and contacts are big business, not to mention expensive laser surgery options-all of which are well-advertised. What would happen to that industry if we all were practicing natural methods to maintain and improve our eye health.
Improving your vision is not an overwhelming task. It is simple, it can be done almost anywhere, and it does not require much of your time at all. It only requires some intentional and on purpose choices to use your eye differently than maybe you have prior to today.
Whether you currently wear glasses or not, there are several exercises that you can do to begin strengthening your eyes and improving your vision now. But for now, focus just on blinking your eyes rapidly.
You can do this exercise right now as you read the directions in this short article. Blink both of your eyes as quickly as you can for around one minute. Keep blinking even if your eyes get tired, and keeping blinking as fast as you can. By doing this, you force your eye muscles to warm up, expand and contract more easily, and therefore your eyes will experience less fatigue.
Faster blinking increases the blood flow to your eyes, which in turn improves your vision right away. This is a scientifically known fact. Blinking strengthens the capillaries, capillaries control the blood flow to the eye, and so more blood carried to the eyes brings more nutrients to the eyes, which makes for more healthy eyes.
Go ahead and experiment. Blink rapidly for five minutes each day (although you do not have to do all five minutes at one time) and notice the improvements in your vision. Of course, the more often you work on your eyes, the more improvement you will see and the more permanent your results will be.
Three Exercises to Improve Your Vision
Want to improve your eyesight? Take note of three simple exercises that you can do every day to restore your eyesight. The following three exercises will reduce strain on your eyes, which is the main cause for poor vision.
* The Spot Eye Exercise
Focus on a period or a comma on a piece of paper until it is very clear. Then, close your eye for a minute or so to let them relax. Then, open your eyes and let them wander all over the page slowly while blinking. Close your eyes again and imagine the period or comma, open your eyes again and view that point. It should appear more clearly now. Your eyes, because of this exercise, should be loosened and relaxed.
* Word Eye Exercise
Open any book and choose a word. Stare at the word and each of its letters. Memorize that word, and then really stare at it until it becomes blurry. Close your eyes, and then open them again. Move your eyes back to the word and view each letter. Blink gently, and see that the word is more clear.
* The Double Vision Eye Exercises
Often when you look at an object, only one eye is working. Squinting causes both eyes to work and your vision to increase a little, but it also strains your eyes. Try this exercise. Pick and object and focus on it in a relaxed manner. Think about relaxing your eyes and allowing both eyes to focus on the object. You will slowly gain more ability for your eyes to work together.
